Based in Duffield near Derby, Croots Farm Shop has been a much-loved part of the local community for over 18 years. Set on the family sheep farm, which has been home to managing director Kay Croot’s parents since the 1960s, the business has grown into something truly special.
Today, Croots is home to a thriving butchery, deli and café, along with its own production kitchen where the team create their well-known homemade pies, scotch eggs, sausage rolls and more. Passionate about supporting local suppliers, they are proud to serve some of the very best food and drink available in Derbyshire.
Originally founded by Kay’s husband Steve, who began by growing fresh herbs before expanding into the farm shop, the business continues to evolve following his passing in 2021. Kay now leads the company alongside a dedicated management team, building on its strong foundations while introducing new ideas, including events and a recently launched VIP Club.
With 43 team members, many of whom have been with the business for years, Croots has also made a real impact in the community through supporting local charities and developing sustainability initiatives.
